Stock Setup
The are a few steps to undertake to ensure you get the best experience when you first start using the Stock module:
Product Groups and Product Categories/ Groups
Please see the following Guide on Product Groups, Categories & Category Groups
Zero Lines
Deducting Stock on reports setup
FAQs on Stock
Shorts won't change Stock levels as the short could be a result of damage/wastage etc.
Why do I have a negative Stock?
If your report is showing negative Stock it means either Stock hasn't been entered, or an entered Stock Take hasn't been completed. To level everything back to zero add a new Stock Take, adding all Stocked items, then click Zero Stock Take Lines and complete.
It's recommended if you don't use Production (to record items you've made in advance) to zero all lines like this daily, as well as adding the items carried over.
Why has Stock not been deducted on my report?
Please check that:
- The Stock Take has been completed/confirmed. To check this search for the Stock take and check the status at the top, next to the date.
- The production report has 'Deduct Stock' selected in the Setup.

How StockTake dates work with Business Intelligence report
One thing to note when taking a Stock Take is that you have 7 days from the date of the Stock Take to make changes or log the Stock Take.
This is because Business Intelligence data builds back seven days
For example
You take a Stock Take for the 10th May on the 10th May
You then have a 7 day window from the 10th to log any changes and confirm the Stock Take
These numbers will then be recorded in the BI
Any changes made to the Stock Take after the 7 days will not register and may incur a charge for a developer to rebuild the data.
